The Delulu Score Test
Delusional-in-a-good-way energy - how delulu are you? ยท 12 questions ยท Free
"Delulu is the solulu." The idea that a baseless delusion can actually be the fix has been floating around social feeds for a while now. What started as K-pop fans mocking their own joking fantasies of dating their favorite idol has broadened into shorthand for believing in yourself without much evidence to go on โ and these days it gets talked about as a genuine coping strategy for protecting your self-worth against a rough job market and an uncertain future.
From fandom joke to a generation's word
Delulu is shorthand for "delusional." It started over a decade ago inside global K-pop fandoms as a way of poking fun at yourself, and spread through the phrase "delulu is the solulu" into something closer to a positive idea: believing something can help make it real. By 2025 it was popular enough that Cambridge Dictionary added it as a formal entry, and in Korea it's become a way of describing the mood of a generation getting through a hard reality on borderline-delusional optimism. Some researchers read it less as blind self-victory and more as a psychological defense mechanism โ an unconscious way of holding onto self-esteem instead of sliding into hopelessness.
Delulu comes in degrees
But delulu isn't one fixed attitude โ it's a matter of degree. The same "it'll work out" can be the minimal hope left over after someone runs the cold, hard odds, or it can be an unshakeable certainty that never even considered asking for a reason. This test measures how naturally you reach for unearned optimism across 12 statements about career, love, luck and how you narrate your own life. Answer on a four-point scale and your total converts to a delulu score out of 100.
Five levels โ where do you land?
Fact Check (0โ20), who doesn't buy hope without a basis. Grounded Dreamer (21โ40), feet on the ground with the head in the clouds sometimes. Good Delulu (41โ60), who believes it into being, in a healthy way. True Delulu (61โ80), main character regardless of the evidence. And Delulu Royalty (81โ100), already ruling the universe in their head. Your result covers what the score actually means, the strengths it comes with, where it shows most, and who you're easy โ and hard โ to be around.

This isn't a mental health assessment โ it's a light way of gauging your own flavor of optimism. That said, if what's actually going on is avoiding reality rather than believing past it, and that's run for weeks rather than days, it's worth talking that through with someone you trust or a professional.
