"Delulu", shorthand for "delusional", started over a decade ago among K-pop fans mocking their own joking fantasies about dating an idol. It later broadened — carried by the phrase "delulu is the solulu" — into shorthand for believing in yourself without much evidence, popular enough that Cambridge Dictionary formally added it in 2025.
