Innate Temperament Test (TCI)
Your temperament profile across TCI theory's 4 dimensions ยท 12 questions ยท Free
Personality is the part of you that life built. Temperament is what you turned up with. It is why two people can walk into the same unfamiliar room and one of them feels a small jolt of excitement while the other feels their shoulders climb towards their ears. Same room, completely different wiring.
TCI (the Temperament and Character Inventory) describes that inborn layer using four dimensions: Novelty Seeking, how much the new pulls at you; Harm Avoidance, how loudly your brain flags risk; Reward Dependence, how much other people's warmth moves you; and Persistence, how long you keep going after a thing stops being fun.
This is our own 12-question version inspired by that model. It takes about a minute and gives you a percentage on each of the four dimensions โ less a label than a map of which situations top you up and which ones quietly drain you. There is no good score here. Working out which rooms suit you is the entire point.
Want the whole picture? The in-depth temperament and character test (28 questions) stacks the three character dimensions โ Self-Directedness, Cooperativeness and Self-Transcendence โ on top of these four.
This is a light self-reflection tool written for enjoyment, not a clinical instrument. It does not replace the official TCI inventory or a professional interpretation of the results. If you need a formal assessment, please go to a qualified practitioner.
